Water Hygiene Consultancy

We provide a wide range of consultancy services to clients, working closely with them to ensure best practice across their estate. In many cases this means operating as a quasi-internal department, providing an ongoing, comprehensive risk management service, but we are also experienced trouble-shooters, commissioned to provide external technical expertise on-demand.

By identifying trigger points for compliance failings within client companies (such as breakdown in internal communication, staff absence, lack of training) and recommending positive action to address these issues, we are able to help clients improve performance and save money.

Management policy development

Thanks to our extensive experience working with complex organisations such as NHS Trusts, multi-national companies and large housing providers, we have the tools and expertise to develop appropriate water hygiene management policies for any size or type of business. We can help you make sense of legislation and formulate a set of guidelines and practices to be implemented across your organisation.

Similarly, we can audit your existing management policies and advise on any necessary amendments to ensure they are fit-for-purpose.

Our specialist trainers will then lead the process of embedding the policies in your organisation, ensuring buy-in from your employees, contractors and other stakeholders. As part of our service we will review and update the policies on a regular basis, as required by legislative or organisational changes.

Urban Environments are one of only a handful of companies utilised by IHG who have continuously operated at a high level whilst developing their systems and processes and retaining quality and value throughout a period of over 15 years.

Web-based asset management

Via our compliance audit app CAT-SI, we use the latest technology to track and manage building assets. The streamlined data collection process, coupled with GPS, time stamps and electronic signatures creates a live digital record of your building assets and maintenance programme. With automatic alerts and task lists, it simplifies the process and ensures full traceability and transparency of service.

Secure, password-protected, cloud-based storage provides a high level of data protection and 24/7 accessibility to this vital management information.

Monitoring services

Whatever your required level of monitoring services, we have the expertise and geographic reach to monitor your water hygiene procedures. From asset inspections, temperature checks and flushing programmes to sample collection and analysis, we can manage every aspect of your monitoring needs.

We have standardised, approved methodologies for all monitoring tasks (available on request) which clearly set out the processes and recommended frequency for each monitoring assignment.

If, during the course of carrying out monitoring duties, we identify causes for concern, we use real-time communication to report the problem and escalate an action plan as appropriate.

Contractor and services management

As part of our consultancy services we are able to provide full management of your external and internal contractors and service personnel. Working closely with your in-house facilities and estate management team, or entirely replacing the need for such an internal resource, we are adept at overseeing all aspects of water hygiene maintenance provision.

We can manage your entire water maintenance programme if required, including auditing maintenance needs, formulating routine maintenance programmes, commissioning and overseeing contractors and advising on required investment.

In many cases we are able to reduce maintenance costs by eliminating unnecessary work and streamlining processes to ensure minimum disruption to your business (see case study – link to IHG case study).
